The 2019 Penrith Art Exhibition.

Another lovely exhibition with a wide variety of subjects and mediums.More framed paintings were entered this year. The numbers of visitors were down on last year but very many who came commented on what a delightful exhibition it was.

This year it was opened by our well known sculpture from Tirrel Jimmy Renolds. After a warm opening speech the preview evening went with a swing. Many members were there as well as invited guests and there was a happy friendly atmosphere. Helped I am sure by a glass of wine served by David and Ruth Kay who will sadly be moving from the area in September.  They will be missed.

The winner of the Rose Bowl this year for the most votes by the public for their favourite painting was a tie between Gary Haughan for his Deer Portrait and Jane Hanson for Westleton Heath (both 8 votes each), However Gary had 16 votes for his work over all and Jane 10, so if we use this as the decider then it would have to be Gary again.Well done Gary for the second year running!

Mick Anderson also did well with 5 votes for Grandfather and Child.

Unfortunately all the photos taken at the exhibition and ready to print  have somehow disappeared from the computer but hopefully may turn up before too long.
